When I Draw Near Jesus: Psalm 2

Mel Morrison

When I draw near Jesus,

I breathe him in. Exhale praises to his name.

When I draw near Jesus, I pause! I reflect.

I struggle to catch my breath.

My trials are intensifying and my suffering’s burning my purpose into flame.

I refresh! I renew! I know I am here.

I breathe him in. Exhale praises to his name.

When I draw near Jesus, I see him! I know him I receive him!

I am spiritually assured in his mercy.  I breathe him in. Exhale praises to his name.

In my weakness my spirit’s drawn to his presence and grace.

I know he’s my conqueror and partner of faith. I breathe him in!

Exhale praises to his name.

When I draw near Jesus, I will remain with him and allow him to increase

And then lessen me.

I want to know Christ, yes, to know the power of his resurrection and in his sufferings.

I breathe in him! Exhale praises to his name!

When will you draw near him? Breathe him in? Exhale praises to his name?
